Thriller victories for YLP Shaya, Baba Sali, TC

It was an action packed week 8 in the FM Home Loans Israel Basketball League, with double headers, last second thrillers, and a red hot playoff race.


DEC vs. Regah Ventures

DEC had a big win against a hot Regah Ventures, 66-58. DEC started out hitting their shots, to build a lead. Regah Ventures came storming back to make it a 1 possession game, led by Shimi David with 20 points, but DEC was able to pull away with crucial free throws down the stretch. Zevy Samet led all scorers with a monstrous 33.


Deco Gears Musketeers vs. YLP Shaya

YLP Shaya came away with a close win over the Deco Gear Musketeers 43-41. It was a game of runs as the game went back and forth. Elliot Dweck paced all scorers with an amazing 28. Dweck hit shots all over the floor, from the paint to beyond the arc and everything in between. YLP Shaya’s offense proved too much for Deco, spearheaded by Benji Dan with 17 points, and Moshe Heller with 14.


Deco Gears Musketeers vs. Samet Team

In the second game of a double-header for the week, Deco Gears Musketeers faced Samet Team. Samet moved the ball nicely and stayed in front the whole game, coming up with a big win, 67-56. The Musketeers made a run in the second half but Samet Team got buckets when they needed them down the stretch. Samet Team was led by Mordy Kirschner with 23 and Yehuda Samet with 18. Deco Gear Musketeers was again led by Elliot Dweck with 25.


Baba Sali vs. Midrash Ballers

The experienced Baba Salis brought a balanced attack, led by 16 points from Ikey Davis, while Netanel Assayeg led all scorers with 23 for the Midrash Ballers. The game was a nail-biter, but in the end the veterans channeled their inner Baba Sali and pulled away for the 45-41 victory.


TC vs. Symphony Care Network

Symphony Care Network matched up with TC in a game that came down to the wire, with the exciting finish broadcast live (where it can still be seen on Instagram, at YLPIsrael). The game did not disappoint, as TC hit a late 3 to put them up, and held on to win it 55-54. This was a huge win for TC, who have picked up momentum throughout the season and are now just one game out of first place, at 6-2.


Neveh Fighters vs. The Hebrwoos

The game was blown open by the Hebrwoos early on and they never looked back, coming away victorious over the Neveh Fighters, 54-37. The Hebrewoos moved the ball well, playing like an elite team. The Neveh Fighters were led by Benjy Cooper with 19 points.


SINAI Schools vs. Tubi Titans

In a game televised to an international audience live on Facebook, SINAI Schools took on the Tubi Titans - and it was indeed a clash of the titans. The game lived up to the hype, as the teams battled back and forth all night. In the end, with the game coming down to the wire. SINAI iced the game with free throws down the stretch, to defeat the Tubi Titans 53-47, in a huge win for SINAI.


Chovat Piaseczna vs. the Vikings

In a strong matchup, Chovat Piaseczna took on the Vikings and won 50-35. The game was blown open in the second half, as Chovat played incredible defense holding the opposition to just 35. Zeev Remer led all scorers with 21, continuing every week to prove what he is capable of doing. Chovat once again displayed their dominance in an impressive win, as they make a compelling argument for a top playoff seed.


Imrei Binah vs. The Underdogs

Imrei Binah walked away with the W over the Underdogs 48-37. Imrei stormed out of the gates with purpose, and played well all game long. Moshe Gross with another impressive performance notched 23, as he paced all scorers. Imrei improves to 4-2 league observers tap them as likely to make a deep playoff run.
