WEEK 4

1/27/20

#1 Yeshiva League Pass
Coming off a big win led by stellar defensive play spearheaded by Yair Kimmel and a 20 point second half by Moshe Heller, the 4-0 Yeshiva League Pass is the team to beat. With their dynamic guards and fundamental big men, YLP is a powerhouse that is, at the moment, unstoppable.
#2 B-Woods
Despite missing a few key players, they still managed to pull off an overtime victory in the “Game of the Week” behind Clutch shooting by Noam Meisels.
#3 kHk/szg investments
After a blowout win in their first game, they lost to YLP by 1 after being up by 6 at half. Led by Yoel Schreier, Yisroel Feld, and Shai Kaminetzky this team may not see another loss for the rest of the season.
#4 Tommy’s midresh ballers
The surprise team to date, led by Adam Motovitch and Yitzchak Kapetas had a bye this week. They are still 3-0.
#5 Project tzitzis
A very balanced scoring attack led to a 6 point win over KMK, they now advance to 2-0.
#6 All American Poly
Despite Marmurstein’s game high 20 Points, they lost in overtime to a top team in B-Woods this week. They are now 1-2 (other loss was to Yeshiva League Pass) and have played arguably the toughest schedule out of any team to date.
#7 Gold Seals
They have a 2-1 record with their only loss coming vs All American Poly in overtime.

WEEK 3

1/20/20

#1 B-Woods
Dominated in the second half behind Muller’s 17 to advance to 3-0. They’re showing no signs of slowing down.
#2 Yeshiva League Pass
Got a tough victory over #4 AAP (last week’s #3) in the game of the week as the Heller twins combined for 29 points. (3-0)
#3 Kol Hatorah Kulah
This team is led by many veterans. Yisrael Feld, Shai Kaminetzky and Yoel Schreier among others were to much for Papa’s Fried Potatoes to handle as they rolled to a 26 point victory in their season opener (1-0)
#4  All American Poly
Ikey Cohen and Gershy Liff kept them in the game this week with a nice shooting display, although it wasn’t enough to get past a strong Yeshiva League Pass team in the “Game Of The Week.” (1-1)
#5 Gold Seals
This week they came out on top in a nail biter vs the Lev Ligs. They were led by Bobker’s 22 and look to continue their win streak into next week. (1-1)
#6 Tommy’s Midrash Ballers
This squad is having a surprising start thanks to a surprise star in Yitzchak Kapetas who has had a few breakout games early on. They are now 3-0.
#7 Project Tzitzis
This team has only played one game but could be a top 5 team. We will be keeping a close eye on them in the coming weeks. (1-0)

WEEK 2

1/13/20

#1 B-Woods
Took care of business, beating the Shtark Sharks by 23 behind 22 from meisels.
#2 Yeshiva League Pass
Moshe Heller returned to the lineup with a game high 27 points as ylp beat a very good team in symphony care 60-44. With Kafka they are a tough matchup on the boards. They are now 2-0.
#3 All American poly
All star PG Ikey Cohen leads this returning team with his great ball handling skills and deep shooting. he’s accompanied with hustlers/great finishers like zeve Gralla and Ari Eisenberger. The rest of the team rounds out this power squad to make them a very dangerous team. They beat the Gold Seals in overtime advancing to 1-0.
#4 Gold Seals
Returning team with some small tweaks and changes makes this a team not to be messed with. Shooters like and Chezky Lewin and Yoni Bobker combined with the pg skills of jack Jacobowitz, has this team championship bound. Their tenacious defence makes it hard for other teams to score. In their first game they lost to All American Poly in overtime dropping to 0-1.
#5 Project Tzitzis
Led by Shragy Peretz and Chaim Kreger, this team pulled off a week 2 win as they advance to 1-0 on the season. Definitely a team to look out for in the coming weeks.
#6 Lev Ligs
This team has a lot of skill. After a rusty 1st half they pulled off a 2nd half comeback behind Natkin’s 19 points. Lev is now 1-0
#7 Symphony Care
Led by guard Zak Lenik this group has a lot of pieces that need to be put together. They are 0-2 due to a week 1 forfeit and a week 2 loss to a tough Yeshiva League Pass team. Their record does not reflect the talent of this team. Look out for them.

WEEK 1

1/6/20

#1 B-Woods
When you take a powerhouse Sarachek championship team and add a star in YULA’s Noam Meisels, you get a very scary team. They beat a good team in Zalman’s Hot Dawgz by 15.
#2 Yeshiva League Pass
With a lot of size, this skilled team is only going to get better as Moshe Heller and Aiden Englander dealt with injuries in Week 1. Despite playing short handed, they came away with a 33-point win.
#3 Giahn
Without their superstar Adam Motovich they still managed to come away with a 15-point win, thanks to a big performance from Yitzchak Kapetas.
#4 KMK
Basically the Berman basketball squad of 2019 rejoining forces. We’ll see how far their team chemistry could take them, as they came away with a close two-point victory this week.
#5 Ashreinu Holy Bagels
Led by Bigman Aaron Weinstock and guard Max Mayerhoff, this aggressive Ashreinu team plays tough defense and runs the floor. Definitely can’t be underestimated.

These rankings are based on the 10 teams that have played so far. Next week we will probably expand the power rankings to 7 teams as there are 18 teams in the league (the league is still open, so it may even reach 20 teams)
