Deco Gear hits buzzer-beater; Demi-Glaze, Big Ballers win big

There was lots of excitement around the FM Home Loans Israel Basketball League, with buzzer-beaters, games decided in the last minute, and all the drama you could hope for as the season nears the playoffs.



Samet Team vs. Regah Ventures


Regah Ventures played a strong game against Samet Team, posting a 70-49 victory. Regah were dominant, controlling the offense throughout the game. Aaron Mizrachi led all scorers, with his 21 points being the precise difference between the two teams. Ahron Fox put in 19 for Samet Team.



Deco Gear Musketeers vs. Imrei Binah


In what turned out to be the game of the week filled with drama and theatrics, the outcome came down to the wire, as Deco Gear Musketeers pulled out a hugely significant victory over Imrei Binah 53-51.

It was a game of runs as each team displayed the talent to walk away with a win. After going back and forth throughout the game, Deco Gear was out in front with time running out, but Imrei tied it with 2 seconds to go, and the Musketeers called timeout. Inbounding from the half, Deco ran a play for Elliot Dweck, who dove right to the hoop with a Euro-step and banked in the game winning, buzzer beating layup.

Deco Gear was led by a dual offense, with Joe Sultan ending with 16 and Elliot Dweck with 15. Imrei Binah was managed through a balanced offense.


TC vs. Baba Sali’s


TC took on Baba Sali’s and emerged with the victory in a game that came down to the last second with a buzzer beating miss, 40-38. Baba Sali’s held a slim lead for most of the game, but TC hit timely shots, and put together a run at the end of the game to seal the win. This was a game consisting of teamwork that shared the offensive responsibility.


DEC vs. Symphony Care Network


In a matchup of teams looking to secure top playoff seeds, DEC took on Symphony Care Network and won in a close game 64-61. DEC built a big lead, but Symphony Care clawed all the way back, making it a 1-possession game down the stretch. At the end, DEC was able to hold onto a slim lead for the win. Zevi Samet led all scorers with an amazing 34 points, and Yisroel Wasser put up 28.


Neveh Fighters vs. Big Ballers


The Big Ballers took on the Neveh Fighters, and left the game with a convincing 50-35 win. The game was close for a while, but the Big Ballers blew it open in the second half. The Big Ballers had an evenly distributed attack, as Yossi Goldstone led the charge with 14. For the Fighters, Benny Cooper and Eli Raider had 12 apiece.


Demi Glaze vs. The Underdogs


Demi Glaze took on the Underdogs and came out with a big win 60-47. The game started close, but Demi Glaze brought the heat and it was too much for the Underdogs. Both teams brought a balanced attack, showing their teamwork as well as patience.


Hebrwoos vs. Tubi Titans


Hebrwoos put up a good fight, but the Tubi Titans proved too much as they won 60-52. Tubi Titans led throughout, but the Hebrwoos went on some runs to keep the came close. Jojo Velensky led the Titans with 22. Moshe Kehani had 22 for the Hebrwoos.


YLP Shaya’s vs. Aish Heat


YLP Shaya’s took on the Aish Heat and brought the heat, beating them by 20 with a big 54-34 victory. It was YLP Shaya’s all the way, as they started out strong and never looked back. YLP Shaya’s, the defending champs, had a slow start to their title defense due to injuries, but they now look likely to secure a playoff berth, where they’ll be a dangerous threat. Moshe Heller led YLP Shaya’s with 24, while the Heat came with a balanced attack.
